HELPING DEVELOPING COUNTRIES’ PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL EARTH SCIENCE OLYMPIAD (IESO).
It is a matter of great concern that many developing countries are unable to participate in this event due to high registration fee and exorbitant airfare. Although IESO organizers do waive the registration fee for some Third World countries, they are unable to raise enough finances for air travel. Much as we would like to, we are unable to provide funds to all the Developing Country teams. Can’t poor but merited students from Developing Countries participate and benefit from IESO then…? They can, with your munificence and kindness of your heart. Do contribute generously to this worthy cause.

Students winning the respective national competitions are invited to participate in this significant event.
All the main areas of earth sciences, including geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and environmental sciences, are considered as selecting
topics for the competition.
The competition for each participant consists of theoretical and practical examinations as well as field work test. Beside that, an International Team Field Investigation (ITFI) will be arranged. Each team will consist of some students from different countries. Participants should work together during experimental and/or field tasks and will be graded
together as a group.
